Terms of Service
Last updated: August 13, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ArtLair, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
2. Age Requirement (18+)
This website is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. By using this site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to access or use the platform.
3. Code of Conduct
ArtLair is a community for adults. We expect all users to behave respectfully. The following actions are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse toward other users
- Hate speech, or content that promotes discrimination, hostility, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Posting or requesting illegal content (including underage or non-consensual material)
- Uploading content you do not own or have explicit permission to share
- Spamming, flooding, trolling, or disruptive behavior
- Impersonating other users or staff members
- Sharing personal or private information of others without consent
- Excessive explicit requests in comments or messages
4. Content Policy
ArtLair permits stylized art including anime, feral, furry, and anthro content. However, the following content is strictly prohibited on the platform, regardless of medium, art style, or how it was produced (hand-drawn, digital, AI-generated, or photographic):
- Any content depicting, or intended to depict, an identifiable real person, regardless of art style, medium, or production method — including photographic, photorealistic, stylized, cartoon, or AI-generated depictions. This includes deepfakes and any other AI-generated or edited content designed to depict, impersonate, or resemble a real, identifiable individual. This prohibition applies regardless of consent; ArtLair does not permit real-person or deepfake content on the platform under any circumstances.
- Any content depicting minors in a sexual or suggestive context, including "barely legal" or youthful sexualized depictions, or content depicting subjects in diapers or other infantilized scenarios.
- Non-consensual content or scenarios, including depictions of sexual activity involving sleeping, unconscious, or otherwise non-consenting subjects.
- Incest-themed content or scenarios.
- Bestiality or animal cruelty content, meaning content depicting sexual activity between humans and real or realistically-rendered animals. Stylized, fictional anthropomorphic characters ("feral," furry, or anthro art) are not depictions of real animals and remain permitted, provided they otherwise comply with this section.
- Rape, abduction, or snuff/fantasy-snuff content or scenarios.
- Content depicting sexual activity involving a person under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or hypnosis in a manner intended to depict incapacitation or the absence of consent.
- Content promoting or depicting prostitution or escorting services.
- Content depicting or promoting polygamy.
- Instructions or content facilitating illegal activity, including but not limited to instructions for building weapons or explosives, or engaging in other unlawful conduct.
- Content presented as professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or gambling/handicapping advice) rather than as fictional or entertainment content.
- Scatological content or content involving bodily waste (including watersports).
- Excessive gore, blood, or graphic violence beyond mild stylized depictions.
- Any other content that is illegal under applicable laws.
4.1 Content Quality & Labeling Standards
Every upload must be labeled accurately at the time of submission. The upload form requires you to select the following before your content can be submitted:
- Content Rating — Safe (S), Questionable (Q), or Mature (M): select "Safe" only if the content contains no sexual, suggestive, or graphic material. Select "Questionable" for content that is suggestive, mildly revealing, or borderline but not explicitly sexual or graphic. Select "Mature" for anything sexual, suggestive at an explicit level, or otherwise adult in nature. This selection is mandatory and cannot be skipped.
- AI-Generated (ai): you must disclose whether the piece was generated, in whole or in part, using AI tools. This selection is mandatory and applies regardless of how much manual editing or touch-up was done afterward.
These labels are displayed publicly on the content and are used to let users filter what they do and do not want to see. Mislabeling content — for example, marking Mature content as Safe, or failing to disclose AI generation — is a violation of these Terms and may result in content removal, relabeling by staff, account warnings, or upload restrictions, regardless of intent.
Content publicly labeled as AI-Generated is disclosed to users as synthetic or AI-generated content and does not depict a real event or a real person. This labeling is intended to ensure users are aware that AI-related content is not real.
Quality standards for AI-generated content. To maintain a minimum quality standard across the platform, content generated or uploaded using AI tools must not include obvious structural or anatomical errors. The following are considered low-quality and may be removed or rejected:
- Extra or missing fingers, toes, or limbs
- Severe anatomical distortions (e.g. broken or twisted body structure)
- Malformed faces, eyes, or inconsistent facial features
- Heavy visual corruption, artifacts, or incoherent rendering
Quality standards for hand-drawn / traditional and digital art. Non-AI submissions are held to the following minimum standards:
- Images must be clear and legible — extremely low-resolution, blurry, or poorly scanned/photographed uploads (visible glare, shadows, background clutter, or crooked framing) may be removed
- Rough sketches or unfinished line art should be labeled as a WIP/sketch rather than posted as a finished piece
- Content must be your own original work, or work you have explicit permission to upload; tracing, heavy referencing without credit, or presenting another artist's work as your own is not permitted
- Do not remove, crop out, or obscure another artist's signature or watermark from referenced or collaborative work
Repeated submission of low-quality, malformed, unoriginal, or mislabeled content may result in content removal, account warnings, or restrictions on uploads.
Content found to violate this policy will be removed immediately upon discovery, without prior notice. If you are uncertain whether a piece of content is acceptable, do not upload it and contact staff for clarification first.
4.2 Selling & Monetization
ArtLair currently allows users to sell digital artwork listings through the platform's marketplace, consisting only of digital artwork that is either AI-generated or hand-drawn/digitally illustrated by the seller (or an artist working on the seller's behalf). ArtLair does not currently offer commission requests or subscription plans; all sales take place through individual marketplace listings. Anyone selling content on or through the platform agrees to the following:
- All Section 4 content rules apply to paid content exactly as they apply to free content. Content that would be prohibited or removable if posted for free is equally prohibited if sold as a marketplace listing — including non-consensual real-person likeness content and deepfakes, any depiction of minors, incest, bestiality, non-consensual scenarios, scatological content, excessive gore, and any other illegal content.
- No real-person or photographic content may be sold, under any circumstances. Only AI-generated or hand-drawn/digital artwork of fictional subjects may be listed for sale. As set out in Section 4, real-person and photographic content — including deepfakes, whether AI-generated or not — is not permitted on the platform at all, and therefore can never be listed for sale.
- No physical or non-digital items. ArtLair does not permit the sale of physical items, prints, merchandise, or any other non-digital products. Due to the nature of the platform's content and the item type itself, all products sold must be delivered purely as digital files; we do not support printing, shipping, fulfillment, or any physical goods transactions of any kind.
- Labeling requirements are not waived for paid content. Content Rating and AI-Generated disclosure must be accurate for anything sold or offered for sale, the same as any other upload.
- You are responsible for your own payment processor's rules. Third-party payment processors (including but not limited to card processors and platforms like CCBill, PayPal, Stripe, or Ko-fi) enforce their own acceptable use policies and card network rules, which may be stricter than this Content Policy and may prohibit certain categories permitted here (for example, certain animal/feral-themed sexual content, regardless of whether it is fictional or AI-generated). It is your responsibility to know and comply with the terms of any payment processor you use. ArtLair is not responsible for account holds, chargebacks, fund seizures, or terminations imposed on you by a third-party payment processor.
- Delivering what you sold. Marketplace listings must accurately represent the digital artwork being sold, and the buyer must receive the file(s) as described immediately upon purchase. Repeated inaccurate listings, non-delivery, or repeated legitimate customer complaints may result in account warnings, loss of selling privileges, or termination.
- No selling of others' work as your own. You may not list or accept payment for content you do not have the rights to — including tracing, minimally-edited AI outputs of another artist's copyrighted characters/designs without permission, or reposting someone else's work for profit.
- No soliciting illegal transactions. You may not use the platform to advertise, solicit, or arrange the sale of anything illegal, including any content described as prohibited in Section 4, or of prostitution/escorting services.
- Platform role in transactions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, ArtLair is not a party to transactions between users (buyer and seller), does not guarantee any sale, and is not liable for disputes, non-delivery, non-payment, or quality disagreements between users. We may, at our discretion, assist in resolving disputes or take action against accounts with a pattern of complaints.
- No off-platform circumvention of these rules. Directing users off-platform to sell content that would violate Section 4 or this section if sold here is itself a violation of these Terms.
We reserve the right to remove sale listings, revoke selling privileges, or take further action against accounts that violate this section, at our sole discretion.
4.3 Marketplace, Points & Withdrawals
ArtLair operates an internal marketplace where users can sell and purchase digital content using the platform's virtual currency (referred to as "Points" or "tokens"). The following terms govern the points system, earnings, and withdrawals:
Points & Wallet
- Points are a virtual currency. Users purchase Points with real money through our payment processor (Stripe). Points have no cash value, are non-refundable except where required by law, and do not earn interest. Once purchased, Points are credited to your wallet balance and can be used to buy items on the marketplace.
- Purchased Points cannot be withdrawn. Points you buy with real money can only be used to purchase items on the platform. They cannot be converted back to cash or withdrawn.
- Points pricing. The conversion rate between real money and Points is set by ArtLair and may be changed at our discretion. Changes to pricing do not retroactively affect Points already purchased.
Earnings from Sales
- Earnings are separate from wallet Points. When another user purchases your marketplace item, the sale price is credited to your earnings balance — not to your wallet Points. Earnings can only be withdrawn via bank transfer. They cannot be used to purchase items on the marketplace.
- 7-day holding period per transaction. Each individual sale has its own 7-day holding period starting from the moment the sale occurs. During this holding period, the earnings from that specific sale cannot be withdrawn. Each sale's holding period runs independently — for example, if you sell an item on Monday and another on Tuesday, the first sale's earnings become available the following Monday, and the second sale's earnings become available the following Tuesday. You can track the status and countdown of each individual transaction in the Earnings Holding Log on your Withdraw Earnings page.
- Available balance. Your "available to withdraw" balance only includes earnings from sales whose individual 7-day holding period has fully elapsed, minus any amounts already requested for withdrawal. Earnings still in their holding period appear as "in holding" and are not yet withdrawable.
- No interest or earnings on holdings. Earnings held during the 7-day holding period do not accrue interest or any other form of return.
Withdrawals
- Withdrawal method. Earnings can only be withdrawn via bank transfer. You must provide accurate and complete banking details (account holder name, bank name, account number or IBAN, routing number or sort code, SWIFT/BIC code, bank country, and bank address) when requesting a withdrawal. You are responsible for the accuracy of the banking details you provide. ArtLair is not liable for funds sent to incorrect or outdated banking details you have provided.
- Platform fee. A 10% platform fee is deducted from each withdrawal request. This fee is calculated on the gross withdrawal amount. The remaining 90% is the net amount you receive.
- Minimum withdrawal. The minimum withdrawal amount is 500 Points (equivalent to $5.00 USD at the default conversion rate). This minimum may be changed at our discretion.
- Processing time. Withdrawal requests are processed within 1–3 business days after the request is submitted. Processing times may vary depending on your bank and country.
- Withdrawal status tracking. You can view the status of your withdrawal requests (pending, approved, completed, or rejected) on your Withdraw Earnings page. We reserve the right to reject, delay, or cancel a withdrawal request if we suspect fraud, violation of these Terms, or other suspicious activity.
- Banking detail retention. Your banking details are stored securely and are only used for processing your withdrawal requests. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your financial data.
Access to Purchased Items
- Permanent download access. Once you purchase a marketplace item, a download option remains available on your account for that item going forward, so you can re-download the file at any given time.
- Exception for removed content. If a purchased item is later removed by staff (for example, due to a violation of these Terms discovered after the sale), download access to that item may be revoked, even for users who purchased it before its removal.
Re-selling & Ownership Transfer
- Ownership transfer. When a marketplace item is purchased, ownership of that digital item transfers to the buyer. The buyer becomes the new current owner of the item.
- Single-copy listings. As of now, each marketplace listing represents a single copy of the item, and once purchased, that specific listing cannot be sold again by the original seller. This is subject to change in the future at our discretion.
- Re-selling. Current owners may list their purchased items for re-sale at a price they choose. When a re-sale occurs, the sale proceeds are credited to the current owner's earnings balance and are subject to the same 7-day holding period described above.
- No cut for the original creator on resale. As of now, the original creator/seller of an item does not receive any percentage of the proceeds when that item is later resold by its current owner. This is subject to change in the future at our discretion.
- No duplicate purchases. A user who has previously purchased a specific item cannot purchase the same item again.
We reserve the right to modify the points conversion rate, platform fee, minimum withdrawal amount, holding period duration, resale terms, or any other aspect of the marketplace and earnings system at our discretion. Material changes will be communicated to users in advance where practicable. Continued use of the marketplace after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
5. Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any content at our sole discretion. All images are reviewed by staff. Staff decisions are final.
6. Content Ownership & License
You retain ownership of any original content you upload. By uploading content to ArtLair, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute your content on this platform.
7. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms at any time without prior notice. Upon termination, any wallet Points are forfeited and non-refundable. Any earnings in the holding period that have not yet matured may be forfeited. Matured, available earnings may be withdrawn subject to the normal withdrawal process, provided there is no ongoing investigation or dispute.
9. Limitation of Liability
ArtLair is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform. We are not liable for loss of Points, earnings, or withdrawal proceeds due to errors, fraud, banking detail mistakes, or third-party payment processor actions. Our liability for any transaction on the marketplace is limited to the Points value of that transaction.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Contact & Takedown Requests
For questions about these Terms, or to submit a content removal / DMCA request, please contact us.
